The Best of Construction Marketing

The Best of Construction Marketing

This is the season for awards, with various events taking place to mark achievements of the Built Environment. This week it’s the turn of construction marketers, with the Construction Marketing Awards showcasing the best in construction marketing.

The Construction Marketing Awards (CMAs) were set up to recognise and encourage marketing excellence across the built environment. Now in their twentieth year there has been a steady growth in the number of entries, categories and most importantly quality of entries. Entrants need to demonstrate that they have met the judges’ criteria which represent marketing best practice, for example:
• Demonstrating clear objectives for the communications which in turn support overall marketing objectives
• Clearly defining and researching target audiences
• Using innovative and creatively designed communications which are cost effective in relation to the level of success
• Setting objectives that are measurable, achieved and deliver success

Despite the challenges and restrictions of Covid, this year saw a strong level of entries submitted, with just over 100 being recognised as Finalists, an achievement in itself. With 28 different categories to consider the judges had a tough job selecting the winners.

But this is not just about recognising the achievement of those that enter, important though that is. It is also about sharing best practice and ideas. As part of the award process detail of each winner’s entry are made available in the winners’ book which can be downloaded, providing examples and ideas for others.

Another benefit of the CMAs is the Agency League Table which ranks the top 20 communications agency in terms of their performance at the awards, providing a list of agencies who understand the industry and a useful gauge of their performance.

This year the awards are taking place virtually, and while that means there is no grand dinner in a London hotel with a chance to network with colleagues and peers and hopefully celebrate, it does mean it is much more accessible as it is free to join and watch online. Why not get some marketing inspiration by signing up for the CMA online awards presentation which starts at 16.30 on Thursday 26th November.
